Common Suriname Toad (Pipa pipa)
Suriname toads are best known for their remarkable reproductive habits. The mating call is produced by snapping the hyoid bone in throats instead of the typically croaks associated with frog vocalization. The fertilized eggs are embedded in the skin on the female's back. The offspring will develop through the tadpole stage inside these packets of skin on the female and will eventually emerge as fully developed toads. Cool and creepy......
