Portuguese Trade Posts

Portuguese trading posts were posts built around coastal areas and they were highly fortified. These posts were built to centralize and dominate local trade of goods within the Portuguese kingdom. Then they established the posts overseas, the first person to establish one of these was Henry the Navigator. It was built it attract Muslim traders and monopolize the trade route in North Africa.
