Birth and Childhood.

Marcellin was born of May 201789 during the French Revolution. The revolution was hard and scary time for Catholics: many people that were openly Catholic--like priests and nuns--were prosecuted.

Marcellin grew up on a farm. He had a relatively normal childhood.

First School Experience

Marcellin was about 11 when he decided to go to school. On the first day he witnessed a teacher hit a student for getting a question wrong. After that Marcellin did not go to school again.
