Minor character

Jake

Jake is a character the messes with Roland’s experienced mind. He is first introduced when the gunslinger arrives at the way station. Jake doesn’t really know how he got there and talks about things like a green lady and statues selling clothes which the gunslinger has no idea what any of it is. The gunslinger ,to understand this, puts Jake to sleep with his bullet trick and makes Jake recall this thought. It describes a normal day for New Yorkers in 1989 , we learn later on that the gunslingers many times grandparents would have lived in this period before the atomic wars came destroying almost all of life and weapons, until on the way to school he is pushed down, by someone we know as the man in black, into the road and is ran over. But how could be alive here if he died way back then? Here is the twist. That was another dimension where it is present day New york 1989.
