Fingerprints stay on smoother surfaces, which show the claim that the smoother the surface area the longer a print shall last. Evidence showing this is that Granite is smoother than Marble which is smoother than wood and the prints lasted longest on Granite followed by marble, and then finally wood.Reasoning for these results is that the smoother the surface, the less likely it is for a print to get disfigured or broken apart.
