Reason #1: Other Cells Can Have Unusual Numbers of Chromosomes As Well
In the case, Martha’s body contains other cells that have unusual numbers of chromosomes. For instance, the cells that line her digestive tract are either triploid or contain higher numbers of polyploidy.
Martha’s liver cells contain extra sets of chromosomes (this could amount to as much as three, four, five, six, seven, or even more extra sets of chromosomes).
Individuals such as Ms. Liv, may have liver cells that contain extra chromosomes as well.
There is no reason to perform apoptosis on the cell.
All of the cells that are in Martha’s body are contributing to her welfare as a living human being.
