“I expect to gain knowledge, expertise, and a deeper appreciation to truly understand medicine within my culture and society, along with the social determinants of health, then apply these skills across cultures.”

“I expect to gain an understanding of how to be the best physician I can be, which includes meeting the needs of my patients and overall community. I expect to learn about the community values and culture in the Rio Grande Valley, but I hope the knowledge we gain will transcend to any community setting”.
