Planarian
All planarians are meat-eaters. They are active predators and when hunting small prey they wrap themselves around their prey, just like a snake! To eat, the planarians extend a tube-like organ, called the pharynx, which enables the planarian to eat their prey. This pharynx also acts as their anus. This pharynx is located in the middle of their body. A planarian has 2 eyes which always appear to be crossed.
Planarians are able to regenerate lost parts like their heads, which contain rudimentary but fully functional brains. If you cut planarians in a particular way, you can make them grow multiple heads. Planarians are capable of learning so if they regenerate a new head that head will remember what they learned. If you transplant the brain of a planarian to the body of another planarian, the transplant will hold and eventually control its new body.
Most planarians occur in freshwater and are sometimes seen in large masses; some species are marine, others are terrestrial, some species are even parasitic.
