Cortés Conqures

-Catholic conquistadors came in 1400s
-a small group lead by Cortez had looked for gold
-Monctezuma the 2 believed he was a God bc the legend was that god Quetzalcoatl was to return that year and he resumed the description
-the emperor sent him gifts of gold.
-when Cortez came he was welcomed but then took them prisoner
-they attack the Catholics out and Moctezuma was killed
-they soldiers came back with allies and defeated the Aztecs
