The steps of conditioning

To insure that there were as few variables as possible, the first step it to be sure that there is no previously established responses or conditioning to the neutral stimulus.

In order to do this, I said to the subject 'I love you' and filmed the reaction. There was nothing out of the ordinary or to show an already established response. The phrase is something common, so the experiment was done on break so I could apply the neutral stimulus at any time he heard the phrase.
