Kahlo joins the Mexican Communist Party

Frida meets Mexican artist Diego Rivera to discuss possible careers in the arts

1928:

Diego and Frida marry, though their relationship was constantly turbulent

After two unsuccessful attempts to give birth, she showed her feelings of loss and pain in her artwork

1939:

Frida and Diego divorce, but end up remarrying a year later


Though married to Rivera, Kahlo had many experimental affairs with both men and women (she was openly bisexual) which include Georgia O’Keefe, Josephine Baker, Delores Del Rio, Paulette Goddard, and Jacqueline Lamba.

Frida was a Feminist as well as devoted to her German-Mexican heritage and Christian and Jewish Religion
