Steps the government took to get rid of communism.

The U.S. government took several steps to get rid of the threat of communism in America. The first step was getting any spies out of the government and all their employees. The government preformed a very thorough background check to make sure they weren't spies on all employees. Then they encouraged people throughout the community's to be on the lookout for anything suspicious in their neighbors behavior. The government found that they had a problem with what they had asked them to do. It raised a lot of paranoia within communities and they had a lot of innocent people get tried to be communist. Which then caused another problem.
