Hypothesis, Materials, and observations

My hypothesis is that I think after a period of time, the salt will drain the moisture from the potato and the potato will be shriveled.

Materials:

1. Potato

2. Plastic knife

3. Foam case

4. Tape

5. Salt

As the days passed by, I observed that the potato was indeed, getting its moisture absorbed and taken out. But instead of shriveling up like I expected, the bottom half of the potato turned black, while the remaining half looked a darker shade of a grayish brownish color.
