The transcontinental railroad is somehow connected to the Native American Removal. Even though they were at completely different times, they still had some bonds with each other. The transcontinental railroad invaded Indian territory and caused them many problems, such as the killing of the Buffaloes, which were an essential animal to the Indians for food, clothing, weapons, tools, etc. Also, like the Native American Removal, the transcontinental railroad forced the Indians into more treaties and they had no choice but to give up their land and move into the reservations. The Native American Removal created hatred and distrust between white men and Indians, and the transcontinental railroad did the same by separating the two once more, and even further apart. Both events had many deaths involved. The Native American Removal killed many Indians by forcing them to walk miles and miles away from their homes without proper warmth, care, or rest. The transcontinental railroad killed many workers when using explosives and angry Indians attacked multiple times. These events still leave a sense of hostility between the Native Americans and the settlers to this day.
