PROTECTED FOSSILS

In the Badlands, all fossils are protected. Fossil poaching can be a problem though, unsuspecting tourists sometimes pick up fossils for souvenirs, don't. The Badlands staff tea up with universities, colleges, and museums to study the fossils prepared by the staff, conducted surveys, and documented fossil history.
