Full Summary

Claudia couldn't stand being left out anymore, so she ran away. She brought her little brother, Jamie, with her because she knew he had a lot of money. Claudia and Jamie ran away to the Metropolitan Museum of Art because Claudia thought it would be a nice place to stay at. They took a train to New York, but walked the rest of the way because they didn't want to lose more money. They got there during the day while everyone was there, but they hid in the bathrooms until the coast was clear. They had found a bed at one of the exhibits, so that is where they would sleep. They did this every night. One day they saw lots of people crowded around a statue. It was called Angel. Jamie and Claudia were astonished. A couple nights later, Jamie and Claudia had to wait a little longer to get out of there hiding spots. This time they were not the only ones in the museum. The guards were moving Angel! When the coast was clear they went to find her. When they got there they saw a symbol on the statue. It might have been the symbol of Michelangelo. They saw that a woman named Mrs Basil E. Frankweiler was in the newspaper yesterday because she used to own Angel. The next day Jamie and Claudia went out to find her. When they got to her house it took lots of convincing. The next day they were still at Mrs. Frankweiler's house. She finally gave them a deal. If they could find the file on Angel, then they would know who had made her. They finally going the file and found out that it WAS done by Michelangelo. Here was also a drawing in that file. It was of a sketch of Angel made by Michelangelo. Mrs. Frankweiler said that Jamie and Claudia could keep it. That day Mrs. Frankweiler called there parents and Jamie and Claudia went home.;)
