Rules of Addition and Subtraction

One addition rule is that when you add two positive numbers you get a positive number. If you add two negative numbers you get a negative number. A sum of a negative and a positive number has to be using the sign of a larger number and subtract. It is the same with subtraction. When you subtract, two positive numbers you get a positive number and when you subtract two negative numbers you get a negative number. Another rule is when you add two numbers that make a two digit number you have to regroup. To regroup, you have to put the second digit on the bottom and the first digit of the numbers on top of the next ten. A rule of Subtraction is when you regroup, it is the opposite of additions way of regrouping.
