How a Rocket Works

Exhaust gases coming out of the engine nozzle at high speed push the rocket forward.

Rockets are only able to enter orbit when they reach a speed of 28 000 km/h.

Rockets are made up of two or three stages.
**when a stage has used up all it's fuel, it separates from the rest of the rocket and eventually burns up in the atmosphere**
