M: I laugh at your humor.... No but capitalism alienates the proletariat, the working class. The conditions of and the means of production determine this. Whom ever is in control of the these resources and tools makes the rules and laws of society. As a result, exploitation of the working class occurs as this is the only way to make a profit. At this point, labor becomes external as your work does not belong to you but instead belongs to the capitalist bourgeoisie. Inevitable revolution will occur and a classless society will emerge. This is how economic material drives history.
H: does material matter?
M: of course it does... Why?
