The mongoose is a medium sized rodent. It lives in wet and grassy areas. It was brought to Jamaica and St. Croix to control the rat population. The mongoose is always fast, alert, thinks quickly, well-coordinated, and active. The mongoose is also very visual, can locate things in the wild, and has a lot of vocal skills and techniques for communication. Mongoose are mostly land animals, but some are semi aquatic and some live in trees.
