Delhi's first mosque, the Quwwat-ul-Islam ("Glory of Islam")

The first city with the name of Delhi was founded by king Raja Dhilu.

The Delhi Sultanate came to an end with the establishment of the Mughal Empire and losing in the First Battle of Panipat in 1526.
