If an object has two or more forces acting on it first look if they are opposing (going against eachother) or working together. If the forces are opposing the. You subtract to find the net force. If the two are working together, you add!
Let's practice!
➡️◼️➡️. The forces
50N. 50N. Are working
Together so we add! 100n

What is a net force? How is it calculated?

A net force is the total force on an object.

For example, if your brother and you are fighting over a new toy. One pulling with 26 newtons of force and the other pulling with 35 newtons of force you would subtract to get 9N as a net force

If you are walking your dog but you don't want your dog to run away you are pulling while your dog is walking way from you. Say the dog is pulling with 10 N and you only have 8 newtons. When you subtract because they are pulling opposite ways you get. 2 Newtons
