What is Sudden Infant Death Syndrome?

Sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS)(also known as cot death) is when a baby suddenly dies for no apparent reason. This can happen at any time from the age of 1 month to 6 months old. The baby can die when taking a nap in a cot, pram and even in a mothers arms. Baby's that are most at risk include:
-being a boy
-Being premature
-Having a low birth weight
-Being a twin or other multiple baby
