Twiggy' Story 💜

Born, one of seven Puppies, her mother, a black lab & her father unknown. Twiggy was one of two females & is approximately 13 months of age. Just a puppy, she has had one litter late this past summer. Her previous owner contacted a rescue volunteer yesterday & requested help. Twiggy had lived with this Owner until the summer, afterward she had moved down the road to another home & had resided there until this past week. The person moved from the home where this pup had been living at 3 months ago & showed up yesterday in her condition to her previous owners home. They fed her what they could. She is now in care & will be flying Perimeter Air to Happy Tails Pet Adoption Centre in Winnipeg the morning of January, 9th-2014 where she will begin treatment, recovery, assessment & when the time comes be adopted into a loving forever home 💜

Both Happy Tails Pet Adoption Centre & Norway House Animal Rescue are asking the public for monetary donations. All donations will go towards covering the cost of transport via Perimeter Air Manitoba & vetting that this very emaciated pup will require.

Upon arrival from the northern community Twiggy was rescued from, she will immediately be assessed by a veterinarian at Best Friends Animal Hospital in Winnipeg. Visibly emaciated, other medical needs will be determined & in the interim she will begin a formula & soft food diet gradually to build her tolerance once again for nutrition without overwhelming her system.

Norway House Animal Rescue in Winnipeg is also accepting donations for transport incurred for the rescue of Twiggy.
