The president at this time was president Lincoln... He wanted to send supplies to the fort. The major commander of the fort was Robert Anderson. This was the first battle to start off the war, many people think it was the battle of bull run but that statement is incorrect. The politics reasons at this time were southern and northern also known as th confederates and the union. At this time, the government was falling apart and that's one of the reasons that this war took part.
