Mount St. Helens, named after British diplomat Lord St. Helens, is an active volcano located in Skamania County in Washington. This volcano is a part of the Cascade Volcanic Arc, which is a part of the ring of fire. Mount St. Helens is famous for its devastating May 18,1980 eruption which caused 57 deaths and much more destruction.
