Tenochtitlan

A wealthy city
Location made trade and travel difficult, they built causeways (raised roads) to connect the island to the shore (trade)
The lake water was dirty, they built a stone aqueduct to bring in fresh water
Farming was also difficult, they built chinampas "floating gardens" and farmed from boats
It became the greatest city on the Americas
Huge temples, busy markets, clean streets, and a huge palace; when the Europeans arrived they were stunned by its magnificence
200,000 people lived there but were later destroyed by Europeans
