In WW1, women's jobs were based off the vast range of opened jobs to be done. Women took an important part in the workforce. They were still limited on the jobs they could do because of the war, the number of jobs to be done wasn't a problem, it was the type. But most women were familiar with working in factories. They were mainly needed also working on the land, with transportation, in the hospitals, and importantly working in the industries with engineering.
