Most people were concerned that the war would take effect on women's employment, but studies show that it actually didn't. It helped it more than it did damage. Most positions women filled was started before the war and seemingly just continued on throughout the war. It was more towards the end of the war that there were a filling of jobs filled more by men than women, most women were considered more useful as nurses or working out on land, than working in the military. Throughout the war, women still maintained a high population in the workforce.
