The dulcimer is often associated with old-time music of America. As one may expect, modern players differ significantly from that of the previous and original players of the instrument. The dulcimer, however, resembles several middle eastern and Asian instruments. Many use this similarity in their music, blending the instruments as one would blend ingredients for a smoothie. Many know the appeal of this delightful instrument, from it's use in classrooms to that of concerts, this is a staple of culture in Appalachia.
