How large and well-equipped are its armed forces?

In Spain, the armed forces include the army, Spanish Navy, and Spanish Air Force. Compared to countries such as Portugal and Canada, the Spanish military is pretty decent, but compared to countries like Germany and ten United States, the Spanish armed forces are very weak. The Spanish armed forces are strong enough to defend themselves if they were to become under attack, but they are not strong enough to invade other countries. Having a strong set of armed forces is very important for a country, and it represents the amount of power the country holds, and how well they are able to defend themselves as well as attack other nations in certain situations.
