Why I like this poem
The reason I like this poem is because of the meaning behind it. At this time in history blacks were treated with no respect and Jackie was playing Major League Baseball in a league that was 100% white before he joined.
People hated the Dodgers, Pee Wee Reese, Brooklyn and so on but Pee Wee, Jackie and the Dodgers all stood strong. This was true bravery and it changed the game of baseball forever.
