When the old man came up with the answer, the man in black became very mad. One example of foreshadowing would be that the questioner was dressed in all black, which usually represents evil or mystery. This prepares the reader for his evil behavior towards the old man when he shook the ladder when the old man was on it. When the old man .got the answer right the man in the black dress would get mad and try to hurt him and he almost did but he asked another question
