The following are the 8 Provisions of the Constitution of 1845:
#1. Delegates protected the right for women to own land.
#2. They did not allow ministers and priests to serve in the legislature.
#3. They did allow settlers from other states to continue to bring slaves with them to Texas.
#4. They protected homesteads to being taken to pay debt.
