Yanukovych’s signals in early 2013 that Ukraine would make an agreement with the European Union to the angry protests by the end of the year that flared in Kiev’s main square. The intersection between the eastern and western pars of Ukraine was triggered by president Yanukovych. He has strengthen economic ties with Russia, and has shunned pro European Union policies. Frustration with these policies along with growing hatred for widespread corruption within the government has finally increased from both the insurrection and the government.
