The Final Break
The met on July 1, 1776 in Philadelphians state house. The vote for independence was on July 2, 1776 and 12 colonists voted for it.
Almost no one liked the passage about slavery and southerners feared they would have to free their slaves. The passage of slavery was very stuck out. They thought it was unfair to blame the King for enslaving Africans.
On July 4, 1776 the delegates approved the Declaration of Independence. Franklin's quote: " Our lives, our fortunes, and our sacred honor."
