What does the "D" in D-day mean?

The "D" in D-Day doesn't actually have a meaning . It just simply means "Day".
But the phrase "D-day" means ;

It was named D-Day simply because it was just a regular code name for when a battle was about to start.

Why is it called D-day?

The day of invasion .

Why is D-Day important ?

It help regain the dependence of France. Also it stopped Germany from conquering Europe, and it weaken the German army. This was the most important day in ww2.
