There was no issue within the family other than the fact that his dad was a very disciplinarian guy who always argued with his wife. When Richard Chase was a child he liked setting stuff on fire and tormenting animals. His favorite animals to torment was Rabbits, and cats. He use to catch his animals kill them and drink there blood, sometimes he blended them and drank it. He had weird complaints about how he thought that bones were out through the back of his neck and how his stomach was backwards. With him doing all this throughout his teenage life, he later ended up getting blood poisoning by injecting rabbit blood in his veins because he thought they had battery acid that went into his stomach.
