As a coach it is important to grasp at least a basic understanding of how children acquire knowledge during each stage of their development.

If you are dealing with very young players this should give you an insight into their cognitive capacity at their present growth stage.
Obviously the age range can vary slightly dependant on numerous factors, however, for the most part it will be very close to your players development cycle.

Give the following boards some thought, then ask, how can I use this knowledge to create better learning opportunities in my coaching sessions? Are my learning outcomes realistic?
