There is no known cure for myasthenia gravis, medications may allow periods without symptoms.
-Pyridostigmine, enhances communication between nerve and muscle. (causes GI upset, sweating)
-Prednisone, limits antibody production. (causes bone thinning, weight gain, diabetes)
-Immunosuppressants improve muscle strength by suppressing the production of abnormal antibodies.

-Thymectomy: surgical removal of the thymus gland (often abnormal in individuals with myasthenia gravis), may cure some people by possibly rebalancing the immune system.
-Plasmapheresis: a procedure in which serum containing the abnormal antibodies is removed from the blood while cells are replaced, and high dose
-Intravenous immune globulin (IVG): temporarily modifies the immune system by infusing antibodies from donated blood
