North Atlantic Treaty Organization is a military alliance based on the North Atlantic Treaty. This treaty was signed on April 4th, 1949. The Warsaw Pact was a defense treaty among eight communist States of Central and Eastern Europe that existed during the Cold War. Members included Germany, Hungary, Poland, etc.
