Food chains

A food chain is when plants and animals pass energy around over and over again. The food chain goes in a certain way. First a plant grows and gets energy from the sun like a tree, then a herbivore eats the leaves, that energy is now transferred to that animal. Then the herbivore gets eaten by a carnivore, the energy that herbivore once had is now in the carnivore.
