- After the death of his dad him and his family moved to Laurence, Massachusetts under the patronage of William Frost Sr. , who was an overseer of the
New England mill.
- His mother had him baptized at Swedenborgian church, but he left later.
- After he left Dartmouth University he proposed to Elinor White, who was attending St. Lawrence University. She said no, because she wanted to get.
through with school. He went on a trip to Virginia. When he returned she had graduated and he proposed to her again and she accepted.
- They got married on December 19, 1895.
- They had their first child, Elliot, on September 25, 1896
- In 1897 he attended Harvard University, but he had to drop out after two years due to health concerns.
- He returned to Lawrence to be with his wife, who was now pregnant with their second child, Lesley.
- Lesley suffered from mental illness.
- In 1900 he moved moved with his wife and children to a farm in New Hampshire, which his grandfather had purchased for them.
- On July 8, 1900 Elliot died from cholera.
- They had four more children:
1. Carol- May 27, 1902
2. Irma- June 27, 1903
3. Marjorie- March 29, 1905
4. Elinor- June 18, 1907 (she died soon after birth due to complications)
- In September 1912 him and his family moved to United Kingdom.
- In1915 they move back to America and get a house in Franconia, New Hampshire.
- In October of 1920 they moved to Shaftsbury, Vermont, but kept the house in New Hampshire.
- On May 2, 1934 Marjorie died from puerperal fever after child birth.
- On March 20, 1938 Elinor, his wife, died at the age of 65 from a heart attack.
- On October 9, 1940 Carol commits suicide.
- In 1941 he moved for the last time to Cambridge Massachusetts.
