Career

1906- Became an English teacher at Pinkerton University Academy. He worked there for 5 years.

1913- His first book was published. The title was "A Boy's Will ", a book of poems. It was published in England.

May 15, 1914- His second book of poetry was published, titled " North of Boston".

Worked at Amherst College: 1917- 1920 ; 1923- 1925 ; 1926- 1936.

1921- Started lecturing at the Bread Loaf School of English at Middlebury College. Which he did for 42 summers.

1923- Won his 1st Pulitzer Prize for "New Hampshire".

1931- Won 2nd Pulitzer Prize for "Collected Poems".

1937- Won 3rd Pulitzer Prize for "A Witness Tree".

January 20, 1961- Read at President John F. Kennedy's inauguration.
