Biography of Browmback

Sam Brownback is the 46th governor of Kansas. His Family originated from Kansas in the 1860's when his family moved from Pennsylvania during the Civil War. He was born in Garnett, Kansas on September 12, 1956 to Glenn Robert and Nancy Brownback. He graduated from Prairie View in 1974 and the attended Kansas State University and received his Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Economics in 1978. He then attended Law School at the University of Kansas and got his law degree in 1982. He met his wife, Mary, while at law school and have been married for 28 years and have five children; Abby, Andy, Liz, Mark and Jenna. After they adopted Mark and Jenna they made a Building Families Fund in the Topeka Community. In 1986 he became Ag Secretary in Kansas and at 38 he was elected into the House of Representatives. In 1996 he was elected a U.S. Senate seat.
