She was best known for the first women to represent Texas n the U.S. Senate also she was the first U.S. Senate to come under a criminal indictment. She was born in 1944 and grew up n La Marque, Texas. Her whole family is from Dallas, her father was a former state representative and her great grandfather signed the Declaration of Independence.
