-The enclosure movement in ended the traditional rights of the upkeeping of land within an open field system.
-Until this point in history, farmers were able to farm on almost any open land of their choosing.
-Eventually wealthy people realized that they could merely fence off an area of that that they wanted to claim, and they could keep that land as their own “private property”.
-By doing this, landowners increased the organization of their livestock and could keep track of their own land and animals.
-Although this movement was practical for wealthy landowners, it had a terrible effect on peasant farmers. Many of these farmers were forced to give up their land to these landowners and then move into the city to search for new work. Most of these farmers ended up living in poverty because they were unable to find a job.
-On the other side, this movement helped create more productive ways of farming and improved the lives of those who lived in the city.
