What do we use it for?

What do we use it for?

93% of the coal consumed is used for electricity. Power plants burn coal to heat water, to turn it into steam. The steam, at a high pressure turns the turbines that generate electricity. The spinning of the turbines cause magnets within copper wire coils to turn.(generator) The moving magnets makes electrons to move from one place to another, creating an electric current, producing electricity. Coal is also used to make steel. Concrete and paper companies use quite a bit of coal also.
