Trench Wars
The Underground Life
Most of the battles of World War 1 occurred in the trenches. They were dug deep into the ground in a zigzag pattern to protect soldiers from advancing enemies. Soldiers spent around 8-10 days in the trench, where they were constantly under threat of attack from machine guns, nuclear warfare, rats and diseases. Soldiers experienced a horrible, stressful life under the constant fear of getting various diseases such as Trench Fever which was an infraction from lice to other diseases which could result in amputation.
