Reverend Hale

"Coming into Salem now, Reverend Hale conceives of himself much as a young doctor on his first call."

"Now, sir, what were your first warning of this strangeness?" (Miller 53). This quote said by Reverend Hale is exactly something a doctor would say when going in for a checkup. This shows that Hale is treating this less than an investigation, and more of a doctor diagnosis.

"Does someone afflict you, child? It need not be a woman, mind you, or a man. Perhaps some bird invisible to others comes to you—perhaps a pig, a mouse, or any beast at all. Is there some figure bids you fly?" (Miller 56). This is very similar to when a doctor names off symptoms you may have.
